Community Standards
Different beliefs. Different cultures. One human community. These standards exist so that curiosity is possible here — you can question an idea as hard as you like, and no one gets attacked for who they are.
Version 2026-09-v1
The agreement
I agree to participate in EKA as an authentic human contributor without spreading hatred or encouraging violence against people based on religion, caste, community, ethnicity, nationality, gender, or other protected characteristics. I understand that bot accounts, AI impersonating humans, synthetic engagement, harassment, threats, or violations of EKA's community standards will result in immediate content removal, suspension, or a permanent ban.
Everyone who joins EKA accepts this once, before creating an account. It is an agreement, not an oath — we care what you do here, not what you profess.
The Human-First Community Rule
"The intelligence is artificial. The community isn't."
EKA is a sanctuary for authentic human cultural and spiritual exchange. AI powers knowledge behind the scenes, but the visible community layer stays strictly human.
Behind-the-scenes AI capabilities that empower EKA:
What comes down
- Hatred or dehumanisation of people for who they are
- Incitement to violence, or glorifying it
- Harassment, threats, or pile-ons against a person
- Impersonating a teacher, tradition or institution
- Sacred imagery or ritual clipped deliberately to mock
- Bot accounts, synthetic personas, or AI pretending to be people
- Manufactured engagement, automated comments, or engagement pods
- Covert AI participation disguised as a community member
What stays up
- Disagreeing with a belief, text or practice
- Asking a question that sounds naive
- Historical and scholarly criticism of ideas and institutions
- Sharing a tradition that others find unfamiliar
- Saying you left a faith, or found one
- Using AI tools privately to assist in drafting, grammar, or translation
Enforcement ladder
Concrete steps, applied in order, with severe harm allowed to skip ahead. No vague promises — you always know what happens next.
- 1
Warning
A first, non-severe breach. The post stays up, you are told exactly which line it crossed.
- 2
Content removal
The specific post, clip, comment or question comes down. Your account is untouched.
- 3
Temporary restriction
Posting pauses for 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days depending on severity and history. You can still read and reflect.
- 4
Permanent ban
Reserved for severe harm — threats, incitement, dehumanisation, bot accounts, synthetic personas — or repeated restrictions.
Every step can be appealed
Hiding content quickly is only fair if undoing it is just as easy. Any removal, restriction or ban can be appealed from inside EKA, with a stated reason. A person reviews it and returns one of four outcomes: overturned, upheld, reduced, or restore with added context.
What you told us about your religion or community background is optional, and is never part of a moderation decision. Enforcement looks at behaviour — reports, history, severity — not identity.
Reviewer Operations & Response SLAs
All reviews and appeals are governed by strict operational targets. Reviewers must declare conflicts and recuse themselves from evaluating their own contributions, institutions, or paid relationships.
| Queue | First Response | Final Decision |
|---|---|---|
| Safety / Hate / Harassment | 6 hours | 24 hours |
| Copyright Takedown | 36 hours | Per statutory policy |
| Knowledge Verification (L2+) | 72 hours | 7 days |
| Disputed Claims (remains visible with flag) | 72 hours | 14 days (needs ≥2 lineage reviewers) |
| Appeals (independent reviewer) | 72 hours | 7 days |
Verification Level 2 and above can only ever be conferred by a verified human tradition keeper or accredited scholar, never by an automated algorithm or AI system.
Verification & The 5-Tier Epistemic Canon
To prevent distortion, every piece of cultural knowledge in EKA is classified along two axes: Epistemic Type and Verification Level (L0 to L5), supplemented by explicit provenance flags:
Verifiable historical, canonical, or scriptural citations.
Commentary or philosophical exposition by a specific school.
Active folkways, ritual practices, and oral community heritage.
Subjective experience and personal contemplation.
Architecturally capped at Level 1. Can never achieve Level 2+ without human lineage endorsement.
